The Rangers are away against the Pittsburgh Penguins today. The puck drops at 12:30 and can be seen nationally on NBC for the NBC Game of the Week.
I don’t even want to get into what went on with the officiating during the game against the Blackhawks, Clearly, Mike Hasenfratz and Dean Morton had money riding on the Hawks winning, and did everything they could to hand them the game. Fortunately, our boys’ PK came through in a huge way, and the Rangers won 3-2 in overtime. Also, I’m pretty sure Lundqvist is gonna be getting fined by the league. I can’t find the link back to the article, but I will find it: his (almost) exact words were: ‘We were playing against five skaters and two referees.’ Pretty sure that constitutes complaining about the officiating enough to warrant a fine from Troll Bettman.
So on to today’s game. To start, here’s a list of players Pittsburgh will be missing for this game:
D Rob Scuderi (head)
F Max Talbot (upper body)
D Kris Letang (dunno)
F Pascal Dupuis (knee)
D Sergei Gonchar (shoulder)
and possibly C Sidney Crosby (left knee).
My word. Hopefully the last win over the Hawks pumped the boys up enough that they can whoop this team’s ass no problem. I’d also like to point out that the Rangers have won the first three games against this team this season, half of the total they’ll play. Can we keep this going, please?
Marc-Andre Fleury will likely be in net for the Pens, since they just traded Dany Sabourin or Mathieu Garon from the Edmonton Oilers.
Henrik Lundqvist will be in net for the Rangers.
